On this day, May 9, 1947, comic book artist and graphic novelist Barbara Slate was born. Slate began drawing as a kid and eventuall worked for DC Comics, Marvel, Archie, and Disney. In 1986 she created Angel Love for DC Comics; in 2010 she wrote and illustrated You Can Do a Graphic Novel; and in 2012 her graphic novel Getting Married & other Mistakes was published.
