On this day, May 30, 1881, Allen Tupper True was born in Colorado Springs, CO. True studied illustration with Howard Pyle in Wilmington, DE and went on to London to study and was asked by Frank Brangwyn to work with him on a mural there. His murals may still be seen in Wyoming and Colorado, and his illustrations graced magazines such as Outing, Collier’s and Scribner’s.
