On this day, May 2, 1895, Peggy Bacon was born in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Bacon studied with John Sloan and George Bellows at the Art Students League in New York. In addition to doing art and making caricatures, Bacon wrote poetry and illustrated over 60 children’s books.
