On this day, June 22, 1885, illustrator Charles Archibald MacLellan was born in Trenton, Ontario, Canada. MacLellan studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and then in Wilmington, Delaware with Howard Pyle. MacLellan created cover and story illustrations for The Saturday Evening Post. His work was either humorous images of children being slightly naughty or illustrations of pretty gitls.
