On this day, July 27, 1877, illustrator Harrison Fisher was born in Brooklyn, New York. Fisher was known for his illustrations of beautiful women. Indeed he was considered a successor of Charles Dana Gibson. Each famous illustrator of women around the turn of the century specialized in a type of woman and they became known as the Chambers Girl, the Gibson Girl, the Fisher girl, and the Christy Girl.
