On this day, February 8, 1875, illustrator Frederick Coffay Yohn was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. After his initial studies at the Indianapolis Art School, Yohn moved to New York and studied at the Art Students League. Yohn’s illustration work appeared in Scribner’s magazine, Harper’s, and Collier’s Weekly. He specialized in military images, especially of the American Revolution.
