On this day, February 10, 1906, children’s book illustrator Adrienne Adams was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After going to colleges in Missouri, Adams studied in New York at the American School of Design. Marriage to a children’s book author brought Adams to book illustration. She illustrated more than 30 books, from classics like Thumbelina by Hans Christian Anderson, to contemporary authors such as Rummer Golden.
