On this day, January 17, 1851, illustrator and comic artist Arthur Burdett Frost was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Frost worked in the art department of Harper & Brothers before he studied in London and at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. In 1884 Frost published an anthology of his work under the title, Stuff and Nonsense.
